The average American teenager sends and receives over 50 text messages per day. That’s more than 1,500 per month. Kids under twelve years old, on average, send and receive 14 texts per day. Now it might not surprise you that teens spend more time texting on their cell phones than talking on their cell phones. But try this on for size, many teens literally spend more time texting each day, than they do actually talking each day!

“ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL PARENTING TECHNIQUES,
IS TO LET YOUR CHILD BE THE TEACHER.”

For parents, the question of whether or not you need to get in on this game is long-since dead. If your kids are spending a substantial part of their day staring at that little phone, you’ve got to find a way of getting some screen time. Here’s where we come in. Our “Text This” pages give you access to a list of perfect little messages, 160 characters or less, that you can ping off to your little screenagers any time of the day. Break through the gossip with a little wisdom. Fill their sails with some inspiration. Give them a cool fact to forward, or just remind them who their biggest fan is. Use our selection of texts, or create your own. The point is to involve yourself in their medium of choice. Select a phrase or photo category from the topics below, choose a message, then send it right from your computer desktop. Trust us, they’ll get the message.
