Be a diplomat, but never let politics rise above your principles.
When you realize that you’ve made a mistake, act immediately to correct it. Perfection is unrealistic. Responsibility is required.
Never decide to do nothing because you can only do a little. Do what you can.
People need to know what you won’t stand for, as much as what you do stand for.
Regardless of the situation, respond with class.
Never dismiss a good idea, simply because you don’t like the source.
Never chose a bad idea, simply because you love the source.
Never cut what can be untied.
Judge people from where they stand, not from where you stand. For them and you alike, the answer often lies in a different point of view.
Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.
Do whatever you can to work well with others, but never choose expediency over integrity. Honor is reserved for those who persevere in the face of temptation, adversity and intimidation.
Listen to your critics. They will keep you focused and innovative.
Spend less time worrying about who’s right, and more time deciding what’s right.
There are times when silence is the best answer, and times when it is the worst. Learn to tell the difference.
Become someone’s hero. Even if it’s your own.
Someone will always be looking to you as an example of how to behave. Don’t let that person down.
